Court Closures Friday, June 12, 2026

On Friday, June 12, 2026, the Markham Courthouse, the Bridgeview Courthouse, and Branch 35 & 38 (Pullman - 111th St.) are closed due to power outages.

Cases scheduled to be heard June 12 at the Markham Courthouse, will be heard as follows: 

  1. All criminal cases scheduled for initial appearance and Electronic Monitoring (EM) violations of conditions of release shall be heard at the George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building located at 2650 S. California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60608;
  2. Felony preliminary hearings shall be continued to June 22, 2026;
  3. All other felony cases shall be continued to June 26, 2026;
  4. All traffic and misdemeanor cases shall be continued to July 23, 2026;
  5. Initial appearances in domestic violence cases shall be heard at the George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building located at 2650 S. California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60608
  6. New petitions for emergency civil protective orders shall be heard at the Domestic Violence Courthouse located at 555 W. Harrison St, Chicago, IL 60607
  7. Civil Orders of Protection return cases shall be continued to July 2, 2026;
  8. All other domestic violence cases shall be continued to July I0, 2026; and
  9. Civil continuances will be given by court order per the judge presiding in the case.

  1. All criminal cases scheduled for initial appearance and Electronic Monitoring (EM) violations of conditions of release shall be heard at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse located at 2600 S. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60608;
  2. Felony preliminary hearings shall be continued to June 18, 2026;
  3. All other felony cases shall be continued to June 25, 2026;
  4. All traffic and misdemeanor cases shall be continued to July 23, 2026;
  5. Initial appearances in domestic violence cases shall be heard at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse located at 2600 S. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60608;
  6. New petitions for emergency civil protective orders shall be heard at the Domestic Violence Courthouse located at 555 W Harrison St, Chicago, IL 60607;
  7. Civil Order of Protection return cases shall be continued to July 1, 2026;
  8. All other domestic violence cases shall be continued to July 10, 2026; and
  9. Civil continuances will be given by court order per the judge presiding in the case.

Cases scheduled to be heard June 12 at Branch 35 and 38 (111th Street), will be heard as follows: 

  1. Felony preliminary hearings shall be continued to June 22, 2026;
  2. All other cases shall be continued to June 26, 2026.
  3. All incarcerated defendants may appear via Zoom from 26th and California.
