IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS SECOND MUNICIPAL DISTRICT

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 2020-1

RE: COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES

IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHIEF JUDGE TIMOTHY EVANS' GENERAL ADMINSTRATIVE ORDER: 2020-01,

the Presiding Judge of the Second Municipal District, helley Sutker-Dermer, has rescheduled court matters from March 17, 2020 through April 15, 2020 as follows:

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED:

  1. TRAFFIC and MISDEMEANOR: All traffic and misdemeanor cases scheduled from March 17, 2020 through and including April 15, 2020 are continued to the next Key Date
  2. CRIMINAL:
    1. FELONY: All Arraignments and Emergency Motions from Courtrooms 107,108, 206, 207, 208 and 209 will be conducted in Courtroom 108.

All Preliminary Hearings and Bond Hearings will be conducted in Courtroom 105.

All Emergency Misdemeanor Motions,Emergency Orders of Protection, Emergency Civil No Contact Orders, Emergency Stalking No Contact Orders,and Additional Preliminary Hearings will be conducted in Courtroom 106.

No warrants will be issued for failure to appear in court from the effective date of this order through the next 30 days.

All felony matters scheduled in Courtroom 107, 108,206, 207, 208, and 209 from March 17, 2020 through and including April15, 2020 are continued as follows:

Cases set for March 17,2020 are continued to April16, 2020.

Cases set for March 18,2020 are continued to April20, 2020.

Cases set for March 19,2020 are continued to April211 2020.

Cases set for March 20, 2020 are continued to April 22, 2020.

Cases set for March 23, 2020 are continued to April 23, 2020.

Cases set for March 24, 2020 are continued to April 27, 2020

Cases set for March 25, 2020 are continued to April 281 2020.

  1. PROBLEM SOLVING COURTS:
    1. Drug Court:

All matters set for March 19, 2020 are continued to April 16,2020.

All matters set for March 26, 2020 are continued to April 23,2020. All matters set for April 2, 2020 are continued to April 30, 2020.

All matters set for April 9, 2020 are continued to April 30, 2020.

Mental Health Court:

All matters set for March 27, 2020 are continued to May 1, 2020. All matters set for April 3, 2020 are continued to May 8, 2020.

iii.         Veterans' Court:

=Defendants will be notified of new date for all matters set for March 27, 2020. All matters set for April3, 2020 are continued to May 22, 2020.

3.  DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Emergency or Interim Orders of Protection, any Emergency or Interim Stalking No Contact Orders, and Emergency or Interim Civil No Contact Orders that are set to return and/or expire on March 17, 2020 through and including April 15, 2020 shall be extended and rescheduled as provided by the Administrative Order 2020 DV entered by Presiding Judge Raul Vega on March 16, 2020                                                                                              

4.  DOMESTIC RELATIONS: All emergency matters will be heard in the Domestic Relations Division in the Richard J. Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., Chicago in Courtooms 1903 and 1905 and all set matters will be continued as                   provided by the Administrative Order entered by the Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations Division, Grace Dickier, on March   16,2020.

5.  CIVIL: All matters will be rescheduled pursuant to Second Municipal District Administrative Order 2020-02.

6.  MANDATORY ARBITRATION: All hearings from March 17,2020 through and including April 17,2020 will be cancelled and rescheduled.

7.  EXPUNGEMENTS: Matters scheduled for April7,2020 and April14, 2020 will be continued to May 15, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in Room 104.

8.  JUVENILE JUSTICE DIVISION: Juvenile detention hearings and demands for trial will be conducted daily at 1100 S. Hamilton Ave Chicago.

9.  MARRIAGES: All marriages scheduled from March 17,2020 through and including April 17, 2020 are cancelled.

The Court may issue further Orders in connection with this matter as necessary to address the circumstances arising from this pandemic. Further information will be published on the court's website.
